[ Pronounced like Cairo, as in the capital of Egypt ]

I'm from the DMV but I moved to New York in 2015 to study journalism at NYU. I'm currently the co-host of The Wirecutter Show,  a New York Times podcast. I've been writing for Wirecutter since 2020, where I've covered everything from sunscreen (and how to layer it with your makeup) to mattresses (including one that costs about $56,000).

Before Wirecutter, I've worked as a fashion copywriter for Moda Operandi, as a music journalist covering Black artists for Okayplayer, and as an English teacher to Chinese students online (I can speak a bit of Mandarin).

In my free time I'm a devout cat mom, a cozy gamer, and a hands-on Airbnb host. When my house isn't booked, I spend my time in the Catskills re-staining the knotty pine walls and haggling for furniture on Facebook Marketplace.
